Jonas Salk:
Salk's Vaccine
Before Dr. Jonas Salk created the polio vaccine, it was the deadliest and most feared epidemic. That all came to an end by the year of 1952, the year where polio would hit its boundaries. That was just a start however, Jonas and his scientist knew it would require more time to just make sure the vaccine worked. On March 26th, 1953, Jonas Salk announces on a national radio show that his vaccine has successfully tested against polio. With this vaccine, people were felt different. But it was a good different! They used words like safe, relaxed, and hopeful when they found out that a working vaccine was actually effective.
